Background: The Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (TQF: HEd) serves as a framework to enhance the quality of higher education in Thailand. However, no valid and reliable TQF: HEd instrument is available to measure the quality of graduates among Royal Thai Air Force Nurses. Objective: This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the TQF: HEd instrument among graduate nurses of the Royal Thai Air Force. Methods: Psychometric testing of the instrument was conducted. The instrument's validity was evaluated through a review by a panel of five experts, providing a content validity index (CVI). Construct validity was assessed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with a sample size of 308, and Cronbach's α coefficient was utilized to measure the scale's internal consistency. Results: The Scale-Content Validity Index (S-CVI) was 0.88. CFA yielded the following fit indices: χ2 = 265.861, p = 0.068, df = 233, χ2/df ratio = 1.141, Comparative fit index (CFI) = 0.996, Tucker Lewis Index (TLI) = 0.993, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.021, and Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) = 0.033. The scale reliability was acceptable, with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.93 and 0.85-0.92 for the six factors. Conclusion: The TQF: HEd instrument demonstrates satisfactory psychometric properties, which will be valuable for those in charge of the curriculum in utilizing the instrument to measure graduate competency and guide curriculum development.

BACKGROUND: A well-defined and clear procedure is a key factor supporting return-to-work and enhancing collaboration and understanding between employers and employees. The adaptation of the Tool for Support-Gradual Return to Work, TS-GRTW, addresses relevant cultural aspects valuable for wider adoption. OBJECTIVE: develop a Swedish version, the GRTWswe, for implementation and integration into the Swedish labor market's RTW process. This involved translating, culturally adapting, and assessing the appropriateness and utility. METHODS: In the initial step, a double back translation was performed to create an initial translated version. This version was then utilized in individual consultations, accompanied by an agreement questionnaire. For the subsequent step, group consultations were held to refine and customize the tool to suit the Swedish context. Ten occupational therapists completed the questionnaires, with mean agreement scores surpassing three on a four-point scale. Out of these, nine participated in group consultations. RESULTS: The findings suggest the requirement for specific modifications to the GRTWswe. These adaptations are essential because of cultural differences in organizational structures and reference frameworks. Moreover, participants unanimously agreed to broaden the scope of target groups, encompassing employees without regard for diagnosis and expanding the range of professions that can utilize this tool. This step aims to enhance the tool's applicability and usefulness. CONCLUSIONS: The study found strong alignment between questionnaire responses and group consultations outcomes, affirming the adapted tool's suitability for use in a Swedish context. The tool benefits employers and employees by enhancing communication, encouraging collaboration, and structuring processes, promising lasting improvements to work conditions.

(1) Background: Orthopedic surgery has been transformed by 3D-printed personalized instruments (3DP-PSIs), which enhance precision and reduce complications. Hospitals are adopting in-house 3D printing facilities, using cost-effective methods like Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) with materials like Polylactic acid (PLA) to create 3DP-PSI. PLA's temperature limitations can be overcome by annealing High-Temperature PLA (ann-HTPLA), enabling steam sterilization without compromising properties. Our study examines the in vivo efficacy of ann-HTPLA 3DP-PSI in pediatric orthopedic surgery. (2) Methods: we investigated safety and efficacy using ann-HTPLA 3DP-PSI produced at an "in-office" 3D-printing Point-of-Care (3DP-PoC) aimed at correcting limb deformities in pediatric patients. Data on 3DP-PSI dimensions and printing parameters were collected, along with usability and complications. (3) Results: Eighty-three ann-HTPLA 3DP-PSIs were utilized in 33 patients (47 bone segments). The smallest guide used measured 3.8 cm3, and the largest measured 58.8 cm3. Seventy-nine PSIs (95.2%; 95% C.I.: 88.1-98.7%) demonstrated effective use without issues. Out of 47 procedures, 11 had complications, including 2 infections (4.3%; 95% CI: 0.5-14.5%). Intraoperative use of 3DP-PSIs did not significantly increase infection rates or other complications. (4) Conclusions: ann-HTPLA has proven satisfactory usability and safety as a suitable material for producing 3DP-PSI in an "in-office" 3DP-PoC.

The Timed-Up and Go (TUG) test is widely utilized by healthcare professionals for assessing fall risk and mobility due to its practicality. Currently, test results are based solely on execution time, but integrating technological devices into the test can provide additional information to enhance result accuracy. This study aimed to assess the reliability of smartphone-based instrumented TUG (iTUG) parameters. We conducted evaluations of intra- and inter-device reliabilities, hypothesizing that iTUG parameters would be replicable across all experiments. A total of 30 individuals participated in Experiment A to assess intra-device reliability, while Experiment B involved 15 individuals to evaluate inter-device reliability. The smartphone was securely attached to participants' bodies at the lumbar spine level between the L3 and L5 vertebrae. In Experiment A, subjects performed the TUG test three times using the same device, with a 5 min interval between each trial. Experiment B required participants to perform three trials using different devices, with the same time interval between trials. Comparing stopwatch and smartphone measurements in Experiment A, no significant differences in test duration were found between the two devices. A perfect correlation and Bland-Altman analysis indicated good agreement between devices. Intra-device reliability analysis in Experiment A revealed significant reliability in nine out of eleven variables, with four variables showing excellent reliability and five showing moderate to high reliability. In Experiment B, inter-device reliability was observed among different smartphone devices, with nine out of eleven variables demonstrating significant reliability. Notable differences were found in angular velocity peak at the first and second turns between specific devices, emphasizing the importance of considering device variations in inertial measurements. Hence, smartphone inertial sensors present a valid, applicable, and feasible alternative for TUG assessment.

Background/Objectives: There is currently no guidance on how to interpret the global degrees of activity (worsening) and repigmentation (improvement) in vitiligo. Stratification into global degrees can be completed for static evaluations (e.g., visible disease activity signs) and dynamic assessments (e.g., evolution over time). For the latter, the Vitiligo Disease Activity Score (VDAS15&60) and Vitiligo Disease Improvement Score (VDIS15&60) were recently validated. Methods: In the current study, a Physician Global Assessment (PGA) for disease activity (worsening) and repigmentation (improvement) was evaluated for validity (construct) and reliability (inter- and intrarater) based on a photo set of 66 patients. Subsequently, the PGA activity (worsening) and repigmentation (improvement) were used to stratify the Vitiligo Extent Score plus (VESplus), VDAS15&60 or VDIS15&60 into three global categories (slightly, moderately and much worse/improved), based on ROC analysis. Results: For the VESplus, cut-off values for the categories 'slightly, moderately and much worse' were >0.3%, >27.71% and >128.75% BSA (relative changes in the affected total BSA), respectively. For the categories 'slightly, moderately and much improved', they were >0%, >4.87% and >36.88% BSA (relative changes in the affected total BSA), respectively. The optimal cut-off values of the number of active (VDAS15) body areas were >0 areas for slightly worse, >2 areas for moderately worse and >7 for much worse. For VDIS15, the cut-off values for slightly improved and moderately improved were >0 and >1. For VDAS60 and VDIS60, the cut-off points were >0.5, >3, >9.5 and >0.5 and >1.5, respectively. The results should be interpreted with caution in patients with extensive vitiligo due to the rather limited disease extent of the included patient population (VESplus (median: 3.2%)). Conclusions: This research will aid in the development of more detailed international definitions.

OBJECTIVES: Rib fractures present a heavy pain and functional burden in trauma. Our primary aim was to determine return to work in patients with acute rib fractures requiring surgical stabilisation of rib fractures. Our secondary outcomes were pain and quality of life. We also document the first application of the Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Instrument, a validated injury-specific patient-reported outcome measure, for chest wall injury in the literature. METHODS: A retrospective review was conducted of patients with rib fractures requiring surgical fixation in a single centre between 2008-2020. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevance, all eligible patients were asked to complete patient reported outcome measure questionnaires. RESULTS: Of 1841 trauma patients with rib fractures, 66 underwent surgical fixation. Thirty-nine patients were eligible and thirty-one completed the questionnaires. Pre-injury and post-injury answers were compared. The number of patients in employment decreased post-operatively from 22 to 16 (p = 0.006). For those that returned to work there was no difference in hours missed but reduced weekly hours and productivity scores. There were significantly more patients with pain and on pain relief. There was a lower quality of life score post-operatively. CONCLUSIONS: Approximately 1-in-5 patients who require surgical fixation for rib fractures will not return to work. This is the first chest wall trauma study that uses the Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Instrument, a validated tool for work productivity outcomes. We recommend this instrument as a reliable tool for investigating return to work outcomes in trauma patients.

Introduction: Uncontrolled blood sugar levels may result in complications, namely diabetic neuropathy. Diabetic neuropathy is a nerve disorder that causes symptoms of numbness, foot deformity, dry skin, and thickening of the feet. The severity of diabetic neuropathy carries the risk of developing diabetic ulcers and amputation. Early detection of diabetic neuropathy can prevent the risk of diabetic ulcers. The purpose: to identify early detection of diabetic neuropathy based on the health belief model. Method: This research searched for articles in 6 databases via Scopus, Ebsco, Pubmed, Sage journal, Science Direct, and SpringerLink with the keywords "screening Neuropathy" AND "Detection Neuropathy" AND "Scoring Neuropathy" AND "Diabetic" published in 2019-2023. In this study, articles were identified based on PICO analysis. Researchers used rayyan.AI in the literature selection process and PRISMA Flow-Chart 2020 to record the article filtering process. To identify the risk of bias, researchers used the JBI checklist for diagnostic test accuracy. Results: This research identified articles through PRISMA Flow-Chart 2020, obtaining 20 articles that discussed early detection of diabetic neuropathy. Conclusion: This review reports on the importance of early detection of neuropathy for diagnosing neuropathy and determining appropriate management. Neuropathy patients who receive appropriate treatment can prevent the occurrence of diabetic ulcers. The most frequently used neuropathy instruments are the vibration perception threshold (VPT) and questionnaire Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument (MNSI). Health workers can combine neuropathy instruments to accurately diagnose neuropathy.

Cognitive deficits play an important role in Bipolar Disorder (BPD). The Cognitive Problems and Strategies Assessment (CPSA) is a measure that evaluates the patient's perception of cognitive difficulties, and the spontaneous use of compensatory strategies and could thus have potential utility for clinical practice in patients with BPD. Our aim was to determine the validity and reliability of the Cognitive Problems and Strategies Assessment (CPSA) in Bipolar Disorder (BPD). Ninety-three BPD outpatients and 90 controls completed the Assessment of Problems with Thinking and Memory (APTM) questionnaire and the Assessment of Memory and Thinking Strategies (AMTS) questionnaire which constitute the CPSA, the Cognitive Complaints in Bipolar Disorder Rating Assessment (COBRA), as a measure of convergent validity, and general sociodemographic data. Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Spearman's correlation coefficient and independent sample t tests were used for Internal consistency, Convergent validity and Discriminant validity. The APTM had a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.93 and the AMTS 0.90. The COBRA score and the APTM were significantly correlated. BPD patients exhibited higher scores on the APTM and lower scores on the AMTS than controls. The present instrument enriches the clinician's repertoire for rapid and inexpensive cognitive evaluation in BPD.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a scale for respiratory infection prevention and control self-efficacy (R-PACS) to measure self-efficacy in the prevention and control of the spread of respiratory infections among adults and to confirm the applicability of the developed scale by testing its validity and reliability. Methods: This methodological study was conducted in two phases. During the first phase, the R-PACS scale was developed after conducting a thorough literature review, content validity, and a pilot test. In the second phase, its validity and reliability were verified against 210 university students in Korea. The criterion validity of the developed R-PACS scale was tested using the correlation with resilience scale. Item analysis, explanatory factor analysis, and convergent and discriminant validity analyses were conducted in order to verify construct validity. Furthermore, Cronbach's α was used to verify internal consistency reliability. Results: The final version of the R-PACS scale comprises 4 factors and 16 items rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Higher scores are interpreted as higher levels of self-efficacy in the prevention and control of respiratory infection. The R-PACS scale exhibited good content validity, construct validity, criterion validity, and reliability. The correlation coefficient of the four factors was ≥.4, confirming the validity of item convergence; meanwhile, the Cronbach's α coefficient for the final 16 items of the developed scale was 0.923, verifying reliability. This scale consists of four factors: "environmental management", "contact restrictions", "general infection prevention and control", and "early detection". Conclusion: The applicability of the R-PACS scale exhibited acceptable validity and reliability. This scale can be utilized to assess and evaluate the degree of self-efficacy in the prevention and control of respiratory infections among adults. Data obtained using this scale can be utilized for preparing health behavior change and health promotion programs, and practical policies for preventing respiratory infections.

Background: Various methods of two or three-dimensional (3D) corrective osteotomy for cubitus varus deformity have been reported. However, whether 3D correction of cubitus varus deformity is necessary is controversial because of technical difficulties and surgical complications. This study introduced 3D simulations and printing technology for corrective osteotomy against cubitus varus deformities. Moreover, recent studies on the application of these technologies were reviewed. Methods: The amount of 3D deformity was calculated based on the difference in 3D shape between the affected side and the contralateral normal side. Patient-matched instruments were created to perform the actual surgery as simulated. Further, a 3D corrective osteotomy was performed using patient-matched instruments for cubitus varus deformity in pediatric and adolescent patients. The humerus-elbow-wrist angle, tilting angle, and elbow ranges of motion were evaluated. Results: Humerus-elbow-wrist angle and tilting angle were corrected from -21° to 14° and from 30° to 43°, respectively, in the pediatric patient and from -18° to 10° and from 20° to 40°, respectively, in the adolescent patient. The elbow flexion and extension angles changed from 130° to 140° and from 20° to 10°, respectively, in the pediatric patient and from 120° to 130° and from 15° to 0°, respectively, in the adolescent patient. Conclusion: The 3D computer simulations and the use of patient-matched instruments for cubitus varus deformity are reliable and can facilitate an accurate and safe correction. These technologies can simplify the complexity of 3D surgical procedures and contribute to the standardization of treatment for cubitus varus deformity.

This case report describes a case of intention replantation in a 15-year-old patient with a mandibular permanent right second molar that had undergone root canal treatment previously. The tooth was tender on percussion. Radiographic evaluation showed the presence of a separated instrument and periapical radiolucency. The surgical procedure was performed under local anesthesia, and the tooth was extracted. After cleaning and disinfecting the root canal system, the tooth was reimplanted, and the socket was filled with a mixture of bone graft material and a growth factor. A stainless steel crown was then placed to protect the tooth. A follow-up examination was performed after 12 months. The clinical and radiographic examinations revealed a well-healing periapical lesion with no signs of infection. The patient was asymptomatic, and the tooth was functional. The results of this case indicate that intentional replantation can lead to a favorable outcome.

OBJECTIVE: Persistent somatic symptoms (PSS) describe recurrent or continuously occurring symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, or pain that have persisted for at least several months. These include single symptoms such as chronic pain, combinations of symptoms, or functional disorders such as fibromyalgia or irritable bowel syndrome. While stigmatisation by healthcare professionals is regularly reported, there are limited measurement instruments demonstrating content validity. This study develops a new instrument to measure stigmatisation by healthcare professionals, the Persistent Somatic Symptom Stigma scale for Healthcare Professionals (PSSS-HCP). METHODS: Development was an iterative process consisting of research team review, item generation and cognitive interviewing. We generated a longlist of 60 items from previous reviews and qualitative research. We conducted 18 cognitive interviews with healthcare professionals in the United Kingdom (UK). We analysed the relevance, comprehensibility and comprehensiveness of items, including the potential for social desirability bias. RESULTS: After research team consensus and initial feedback, we retained 40 items for cognitive interviewing. After our first round of interviews (n = 11), we removed 20 items, added three items and amended five items. After our second round of interviews (n = 7), we removed four items and amended three items. No major problems with relevance, comprehensibility, comprehensiveness or social desirability were found in remaining items. CONCLUSIONS: The provisional version of the PSSS-HCP contains 19 items across three domains (stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination), demonstrating sufficient content validity. Our next step will be to perform a validation study to finalise item selection and explore the structure of the PSSS-HCP.

PURPOSE: In surgical image segmentation, a major challenge is the extensive time and resources required to gather large-scale annotated datasets. Given the scarcity of annotated data in this field, our work aims to develop a model that achieves competitive performance with training on limited datasets, while also enhancing model robustness in various surgical scenarios. METHODS: We propose a method that harnesses the strengths of pre-trained Vision Transformers (ViTs) and data efficiency of convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Specifically, we demonstrate how a CNN segmentation model can be used as a lightweight adapter for a frozen ViT feature encoder. Our novel feature adapter uses cross-attention modules that merge the multiscale features derived from the CNN encoder with feature embeddings from ViT, ensuring integration of the global insights from ViT along with local information from CNN. RESULTS: Extensive experiments demonstrate our method outperforms current models in surgical instrument segmentation. Specifically, it achieves superior performance in binary segmentation on the Robust-MIS 2019 dataset, as well as in multiclass segmentation tasks on the EndoVis 2017 and EndoVis 2018 datasets. It also showcases remarkable robustness through cross-dataset validation across these 3 datasets, along with the CholecSeg8k and AutoLaparo datasets. Ablation studies based on the datasets prove the efficacy of our novel adapter module. CONCLUSION: In this study, we presented a novel approach integrating ViT and CNN. Our unique feature adapter successfully combines the global insights of ViT with the local, multi-scale spatial capabilities of CNN. This integration effectively overcomes data limitations in surgical instrument segmentation. The source code is available at: https://github.com/weimengmeng1999/AdapterSIS.git .

BACKGROUND: As a recognized win-win-win approach to international debt relief, Debt-to-Health(D2H)has successfully translated debt repayments into investments in health-related projects. Although D2H has experienced modifications and periodic suspension, it has been playing an increasingly important role in resource mobilization in public health, particularly for low-and middle-income countries deep in debt. MAIN TEXT: D2H, as a practical health financing instrument, is not fully evidenced and gauged by academic literature though. We employed a five-step scoping review methodology. After posing questions, we conducted comprehensive literature searches across three databases and one official website to identify relevant studies.We also supplemented our research with expert interviews. Through this review and interviews, we were able to define the concept and structure of D2H, identify stakeholders, and assess its current shortcomings. Finally, we proposed relevant countermeasures and suggestions. CONCLUSION: This paper examines the D2H project's implementation structure and influencing variables, as well as the current research plan's limitations, with a focus on the role health funding institutions have played during the project's whole life. Simultaneously, it examines the interdependencies between debtor nations, creditor nations, and health financing establishments, establishing the groundwork for augmenting and revamping D2H within the ever-changing worldwide context of health development assistance.

Laparoscopic instrument handles design and dimensions are crucial to determine the configuration of surgeons' hand grip and, therefore, can have a deleterious effect on overall surgical efficiency and surgeons' comfort. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of laparoscopic handle size and hand surface area on surgical task performance. A single-blind, randomized crossover trial was carried out with 29 novice medical students. Participants performed three simulated tasks in "black box" simulators using two scissor-type handles of different sizes. Surgical performance was assessed by the number of errors and time required to complete each task. Hand anthropometric data were measured using a 3D scanner. Execution time was significantly higher when cutting and suturing tasks were performed with the smaller handle. In addition, hand surface area was positively correlated with peg transfer task time when performed with the standard handle and was correlated with cutting task time in small and standard handle groups. We also found positive correlations between execution time and the number of errors executed by larger-handed participants. Our findings indicate that laparoscopic handle size and hand area influence surgical performance, highlighting the importance of considering hand anthropometry variances in surgical instrument design.

Background: To compare short-term cognitive outcomes among groups with and without neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPSs) or antipsychotic prescription and to determine which disease status or treatment modality is associated with relatively faster cognitive decline. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a prospective cohort of patients diagnosed with dementia and mild cognitive impairment. All participants were evaluated using the Cognitive Abilities Screening Instrument (CASI) during their initial clinical assessments and at the annual follow-up. The dependent variable was annual delta CASI. Multivariate linear regression analysis was used to assess the degree of association between NPS, antipsychotic use, and cognitive decline after adjusting for confounding factors. Neuropsychiatric symptoms were examined individually to determine their predictive value for cognitive decline. Results: A total of 407 (N = 407) patients were included in the study. NPSs, rather than antipsychotic use, led to faster cognitive decline. A higher baseline NPI total score predicted a significantly faster decline in CASI scores (1-year delta CASI = -0.22, 95% CI = -0.38~ -0.05, p = 0.010). Specific items (delusions, agitation, depression, anxiety, euphoria, and apathy) in the NPS significantly increased cognitive decline. Conclusion: Certain neuropsychiatric symptoms, rather than antipsychotic use, lead to faster cognitive decline in a dementia collaborative care model. Checking for and providing appropriate interventions for NPS in people with dementia and their caregivers are highlighted.

Background: Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is a muscle pain disorder characterized by the presence of Myofascial Trigger Point (MTrP) within a taut band, local tenderness, referral of pain to a distant site, restricted range of motion, and autonomic phenomena. The upper trapezius is the muscle most often affected by MTrPs. Manual myofascial release (MFR) and Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) are techniques of soft tissue release that are used to resolve MPS. Fifty six percent of physiotherapists complain of pain in multiple areas due to the massage and manual therapy that they have to perform. Objective: The objective of this study is to find whether IASTM is better than manual MFR in treating patients with MPS in upper trapezius. Methods: This study was a single-blinded randomized controlled trial that included 31 participants, both males and females between the age groups of 18-50 years. Participants were randomly divided into two groups. Three sessions were given over a period of one week for both groups. Group A received IASTM along with conventional treatment and Group B received Manual MFR along with the conventional treatment. The outcome measures evaluated were pain, cervical range of motion, pain pressure threshold (PPT) of trigger points, and the neck disability index. Pre- and post-measurements were taken and the analysis was done. Results: Both the treatment methods significantly reduced pain, improved PPT, range of motion, and function. The effects between the groups showed that IASTM was significantly better than manual MFR to reduce pain. The improvement in PPT, range of motion and function were equal in both the groups. Conclusion: IASTM and manual MFR both are effective individually as treatment procedures for pain, PPT, range of motion, and function. Neither of the treatment options can be considered better that the other. The clinician can decide based on the availability of the instrument, training, patient's preference, and his/her comfort whether which of the two treatment methods should be used.

A simple and inexpensive microwave measurement setup based on measurements of magnitudes of transmission properties ( | S 21 | dB ) is proposed for industrial-based microwave aquametry (moisture or water content) applications. An easy-to-apply calibration procedure based on normalization is implemented to eliminate systematic errors in the measurement system. As a case study, we applied this setup for the quantification of water-adulteration in flower honey. After validating this system by distilled water and pure flower honey measurements, | S 21 | dB measurements of the pure flower honey with various adulteration percentages ( δ ) up to 9% are conducted to examine the performance of the measurement setup for quantification of water adulteration. A multi-dimensional fitting procedure is implemented to predict δ using the proposed inexpensive microwave measurement setup. It is shown that it is possible to quantify an adulteration level with an accuracy better than ∓ 1 % by the proposed measurement setup and the applied multi-dimensional fitting procedure.

Objective: Reuse of medical devices poses risks concerning technical issues and patient safety. In this study, we aimed to examine the structural changes in catheters that occur due to the reuse with the aid of electron microscopy. Materials and Methods: The effects of hydrogen peroxide (HP) and ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization on four percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) catheters and control PTCA catheters were examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Each catheter sample was divided into four parts during the SEM examination, and a total of 20 pieces were examined. Catheters were reprocessed through every regular sterilization step and used solely for the study, not in patients. Statistical evaluations of histological scoring made on images obtained from scanning electron microscopic images were made using the GraphPad Prism 8 program. Results: Electron microscopical examination showed that HP sterilization caused more robust and deeper lines compared to EO. These distortions increased directly with the increase in the reprocessing cycle. In EO, no significant damage was detected within five cycles in contrast to HP; however, the harmful effects of EO were seen over five cycles. Unprocessed samples had no damage. Outer and inner deterioration was significantly higher in the EO>5 group and HP>5 group than in the control group. However, the bacterial contamination score in the EO>5 group was higher than the control group. Conclusion: Our findings showed that HP and EO sterilizations caused some deterioration in the inner and outer surfaces of PTCA catheter samples. We recommend reprocessing using EO, the least damaging method, when necessary, and paying attention not to exceed five cycles when necessary.
